I want to thank my staff - Danny, Amy, Jason, Jen, Logan, Kerry and Zach - for EVERYTHING! Without them, there is no XTrack so a big ol' shout out to them.

I also want to thank all of our panelists - from the small panels to the large (and you all know who you are). They put time and effort into prepping those panels and being at D'Con and XTrack so YOU can enjoy the experience. Panels are the backbone of Con and everyone who presents is appreciated.'

Thanks to Tech and AV and Security and Daily Dragon and a million and one other groups that support the track behind the scenes. You guys rock!

A last thank you to the attendees - you guys clap and ask good questions and everything else and thank you for attending XTrack. Thanks for understanding when panels don't start right on time and being patient when we have a minor glitch and have to get it fixed. If you hated everything we did, we wouldn't still be around - 10 years + at this point and we're still going strong.

I hope you enjoyed the extra panels, both show and topic related. Hope to be able to do more next year. Everything from Friday's start up to our "biggest panel ever" on Sunday at 10am was amazing this year. I hope you all enjoyed yourself; I think this was one of the best Con's ever - not just for XTrack but overall.

Now, I'm gonna go sleep more. And take care of my eye. :)

PS - For those curious, I have a severe corneal abrasion on my eye but the doctor said I will be FINE! I'm using antibiotic drops and keeping it covered. Thanks for all your concern at Con. :)

2009 DragonCon Schedule is up

This year (proving my obvious insanity :) ), XTrack is scheduled for over 40 panels! Yes, we are using other track rooms; we scheduled over 44 panels for DragonCon this year, increasing our fandom discussions and our paranormal topic panels. And! We have new shows on the track - Fringe and Warehouse 13.

Also, SPN and Lost fans - please note the increase in your fan discussions. :)

Want to thank everyone who came to any (and some of you, almost all) of the XTrack at D'Con 2008. I think this was a great year - TAPS, International Ghost Hunters, Lance Henriksen, Dean Haglund, Erick Avari, Linda Blair, Dominic Keating. And our wonderful cross-over panels with BritTrack for Torchwood. Plus, our great and true friends - Graham Watkins, Frank Gordon, Dee Bitner, Fiona Broome, John Flynn, Bob Blackwood and so many others (I know I'm forgetting some but it's early on Saturday :) Please forgive.).

Thanks also to my staff: Danny, Amy, Beth, Deb, Jason and Kim.

Plus, thanks to Tech Ops and Security. Can't thank you all enough for everything!!!!

Thank you all for attending and hope to see you next year!

And yes, before anyone asks, I hope to have more SPN and Lost panels next year...it's all about the logistics.

Instead of the Psychic Abilities panel, XTrack will be substituting the following:

Science Behind Parapsychology - Please join Frank Gorden, Psychologist, and Dee Bitner, Certified Hynotherapist, as they discuss the science behind parapsychology - how the science validated difference "psychic" therapies and abilities.

We hope you'll join us there.

X-Track Party!

It's coming up on con time and we'll be posting our schedule soon, but first we wanted to announce a new thing we're doing this year.

Friday night starting at 10:00, join us for the First X-Track Party in Rooms 601 and 602 of the Marriott. We're going to have a cash bar and a DJ.

What we need from you fine folks is song ideas. We need you to suggest any song that makes you think of a sci-fi and/or paranormal character, show, movie, book, whatever.

XTrack is thinking of two things this year and wants your input. No promises on "yay" or "nay" at this time but input would be appreciated.

Would you want to show fan vids at XTrack?

A few points to understand:

At no point would XF or LGM or Millenium vids be shown. Fox and Ten Thirteen have done many C&D letters over the years for fans with vids, pictures, manips, etc and XTrack cannot (and will not) put DCon under any type of legal jeopardy for vids.
This would not be a "vid show" per se but a way for fans to share some vids.
We'd likely take the ten pm hour for 2-3 evenings of con and let fans of XTrack shows come and show vids.
I would expect people to use their good judgment in showing vids. Yes, this is an evening hour but people may bring children and vids would be moderated.

IF (and that's a big IF) there were a "XTrack Dance Party," would you attend?

Thinking of this on Friday night.
There would be a possibility of having people send in songs that make them think of their favorite sci-fi, fiction, etc character (XTrack and others).

For example, I might be sending in the song "Dancing with Myself" as a Mulder-esque song. :)

Don't know how often this LJ will be updated but this is the official LJ for DragonCon's X Track. We hope to update this site with information on the guests and our schedule aswe go.

Please note: Until the actual panel occurs, all panel schedules and guests are subject to change!

Now, for you to help XTrack be the best it can be, what are some of the panels you'd like to see this year - either repeats from last year (or prior years) and any new ideas you have. Can't promise anything but information is always appreciated.
